A bible given to Rev. John Whittlesey on his 80th birthday, September 1, 1860 by his son, Oramel.

The diploma reads "These present shelveth, that the bearer herof, Mifs of ............. having been a Member of the above Institution for the space of One Year ................ antenior to the date herof, and having been duly examined is considered competent and well qualifed to give instruction in the Theory and Practice of Music and Thorough Bass, as applied to the Piano Forte. And the said Mifs............ of.................., is herby most cherfully and confidently recommended as an able officient and correct instructress.
Dated at Salem, this........... date of ....................... in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty."
